THE WORLD’S GREATEST BUBBLES ARE BIGGER THAN EVER: When They Pop, You Better Own Some Precious Metals

But, we don’t need to round up the global real estate, securitized debt, and equity values as they have jumped over $100 trillion in just two years and are now in EXTREME BUBBLE territory.  How can global equity (stock) values surge by $28 trillion in two years ($55 trillion to $83 trillion), a massive 50% increase, if global oil consumption has only risen by 3 million barrels per day, or a lousy 3%???
According to the IEA – International Energy Agency, total global oil demand increased from approximately 95 million barrels per day (mbd) in 2015 to 98 mbd in 2017.  Please understand, the world isn’t producing 98 mbd of high-quality conventional oil.  That figure 98 mbd figure includes shale oil, oil sands, NGL’s – natural gas plant liquids and biofuels.
If investors paid attention to the ENERGY, they would realize these global asset values (not including precious metals) are severely overvalued.  I believe that within a decade, current global real estate, securitized debt, and equity values of $469 trillion will have lost at least 50% of their value.
If just $1-$2 trillion of this amount made its way into precious metals, it would push the value of gold and silver to levels never thought possible.  I am not talking HYPE here, but logic.  My analysis suggests that global oil production will begin to decline as U.S. shale oil production disintegrates, starting within the next 1-2 years.  I forecast U.S. domestic oil production to be down 50-75% by 2025.

If you want to know
What is really going on
Follow the Money!
A multibillion-dollar industry is pushing an array of expensive technologies with the message that any campus could be next.

In late June, inside an underground meeting room attached to the U.S. Capitol, past guards and metal detectors, lawmakers and representatives from multiple large security companies discussed the threat of mass school shootings and the need to, in their words, “harden” campuses before someone else gets killed.

“If you think this cannot happen to you, I’m here to tell you I used to think the same exact thing,” said Noel Glacer, a Florida-based security professional. The message—belied by the statistical rarity of school shootings—was part cautionary tale, part call to action.

Each major school shooting—Columbine, Sandy Hook, Parkland—has helped expand a multi-billion dollar industry that sells not just sophisticated surveillance technology, but also high-priced consultants to explain it all to anxious educators. The recent tragedies are providing momentum—not to mention funds, including millions of dollars in federal money—to initiatives that aim to keep children safe. As the tragedies have piled up, some education leaders say they’re inundated with sales pitches from security companies, each with the same basic message: You could be next.

DYI:  When you don’t know what is going on always follow the money!  This is so classic and text book – Problem Reaction Solution.  Create a problem whether real or fake promote the problem heavily through the controlled main stream press to create a reaction of fear and a demand of something needs to be done with a solution already preplanned BEFORE the problem arrived.

For those of you who don’t know this may come as a shock and some may simply reject me out of hand.  These shootings are psychological operations – [brain washing if you like] all designed to make you believe they are real.  Simply put these mass casualty DRILLS are promoted as real by the main stream press as corporate PROPAGANDA designed to create fear within our 98,817 public schools and 4,140 colleges/universities TO PURCHASE security products and services from companies that are predominately owned by the elites.

Bigger the Lie - Easier the Sell.

Armies of consultants [salesmen & women] are pushing sales all based upon a false premise [LIES].  These are mass casualty DRILLS; no one was shot; no one was killed or wounded; all portrayed by PAID CRISES ACTORS.  This is a scam; fraud on a mass scale.

Great empires that rise and fall all go through five stages so apply stated by Sir John Glubb who wrote The Fate of Empires [1978] motivated as he watched within his lifetime the final demise of the British empire.

  1. Pioneers
  2. Commercial Expansion
  3. Age of Affluence
  4. Age of Intellect
  5. Age of Decadence
Great countries that are on the possible path of empire all start with hard work to build and acquire real wealth.  This is the Pioneer's stage as their fore fathers sacrificed to build a solid foundation.

Once the solid base has been built during the age of the Pioneers’ this burgeoning empire seeks beyond its borders for economic development or as John Glubb termed Commercial Expansion.

When Commercial Expansion is at full flower the now empire is in the Age of Influence with a mentality of no project is too great and no societal problem to large to conquer.  The pinnacle of achievement and wealth standing on top of the mountain unknowing there is only one direction to go.  DOWN.

The Age of Intellect as business leaders of great wealth set upon proving that their wealth was not created by luck but through greater than average intelligence aspiring for the approval and praise of the masses.  The age of the Pioneers’ and Commercial Expansion was an era to aspire to the rigors of hard work and sacrifice, as opposed to celebrity status.

The Age of Decadence as great wealth is seen as an entitlement for the elites when that cannot be achieved nor afforded it is accomplished through fraud and deceit.

That is where we are today with so many industries relying on cheating their customers or profiting based upon false problems or fraud.  This will happen in the other ages, but is small and infrequent, however in the Age of Decadence fraud and scams becomes the major business model replacing hard work, sacrifice and providing value to the customer.  Today it is hard to find elite who is NOT pushing some type of scam such as Wells Fargo Bank that is constantly in the news [so bad even the main stream press must report] ripping off their customers in one form after another.

It is possible for America to bounce back by going back to the era of Pioneers’ where hard work, sacrifice, honesty, and those who push fraud and scams are punished severely.  This NOT Republican or Democrat; it is an American ideal that is a difficult sell.  Why??  As fraud, deceit, and scams pervade further within our society those before mentioned attributes become a losing position.  Unfortunately history is not on the rebirth of the Pioneers’ but with a collapse that mires a country for decades before any real progress can be made.  Hopefully this once great nation will be the exception.  Time will tell.

Stocks, Long Term Bonds,
Cash and Gold
There’s a Bull Market Some Where!

The Fantasy of "Balanced Returns" Funding Retirement

The fantasy that a "balanced portfolio" yielding "balanced returns" will fund a stable retirement for decades to come is widely accepted as a sure thing: inflation will stay near-zero essentially forever, assets such as stocks and bonds will continue yielding hefty income and capital gains, and all the individual or fund needs to do is maintain a "balanced portfolio" of various asset classes that yield "balanced returns," i.e. some safe "value" lower-yield returns and some higher risk "growth" returns.
This fantasy is based on the belief that yields will exceed real inflation for decades to come. That is, if inflation is 2%, and the average yield of a "balanced portfolio" is 6%, then the inflation-adjusted return is 4% annually--not great, but enough to secure retirement income.
What few dare ask is: what happens if inflation is 7% and yields drop to 2%?  Then the retirement fund loses 5% of its purchasing power every year.  In a decade, the fund's value will decline by roughly half.
What happens if the current "everything" asset bubble pops, and inflation starts running away from policy makers? It's worth recalling that declines on the order of 75% to 80% are common when bubbles finally pop--for example, the NASDAQ stock index post-2000.
DYI:  Governments may experience deflation from time to time but will NOT endure negative inflation for long periods of time.  If they have to they will do anything to get into a war such a WWII to gin up government spending with the Central bank purchasing a portion of the debt.  Good bye to deflation. And say hello to inflation.  This is why DYI advocates a 4 asset category model portfolio of stocks, long term bonds, cash [short term notes] and GOLD that is NOT fixed but changes as they move away from their respective fair value.

There’s a bull market out there!

These asset categories are dramatically different in how they respond to the economy over long term period of time [rolling 5 year time periods] and as such allow the investor time to build positions in the undervalued and reduce the overvalued.  Since the above article was geared towards inflation over time no matter how much governments will huff and puff gold will perform to the benefit to the investor only if he adjust his percentage to the prevailing valuation.  That is what DYI does with our math driven valuation formula.  And by the way my formula** is no secret all you have to do is click on the above page button for stocks, bonds, and gold and there it is.

Zero
Ethics Congress!

New York GOP Rep. Chris Collins pleads not guilty to insider trading

The congressman was arrested earlier in the day on charges that he shared non-public information with family and friends related to Australian biotech company Innate Immunotherapeutics, on which Collins served as a board member.
DYI:  The real story is NOT insider trading it is how a sitting Congressman is on the board of any corporation and to add insult is on the committee that regulates drug companies!  This illustrates the ongoing corruption of BOTH political parties as we have all seen over decades. The House ethics committee is a misnomer with zero ethics; with a situation so clear cut and obvious.

Once a politician has won any office his or her duty the very next day is to resign from all organizations thus providing the office with a clean slate.  This would apply to any appointed positions in government as well.

2017 government debt to GDP is 105%

The U.S. Government To Fork Out A Half Trillion To Service Its Debt In 2018

The U.S. Government is going to surpass another significant milestone this year.  According to the recently released data from the TreasuryDirect.gov, the government will fork out a stunning half trillion dollars just to service its debt in 2018.  Unfortunately, as U.S. interest rates rise, along with ever-expanding public debt, the cost to service the debt will continue to increase.
Interestingly, the U.S. debt service in 2000 of $361 billion was higher than the $360 billion in 2012.  The U.S. government paid more interest payments in 2000 because of a much higher interest rate of 6.6%, even though the public debt was only $5.6 trillion.
If the United States had to pay a 6.6% interest rate on its $21.2 trillion in debt, it would amount to a mind-blowing $1.4 trillion a year.  This is precisely why Central banks will not allow their interest rates to rise unless the market forces rates higher.  If that happens, well then, the U.S.A. Titanic sinks to the bottom.
So, the BIG PROBLEM for the U.S. Government is what happens when the markets crack?  When U.S. stock and real estate values crash, so will the government’s tax receipts.  The only way to keep the U.S. government from going bankrupt during this time is to print money and lower interest rates.
Unfortunately, this time around, the country will not have the domestic energy supply to pull itself out of the next recession-depression as it did from 2008 to 2018.  U.S. shale oil production will likely peak within the next 1-3 years.  However, if the oil price drops like a rock along with the stock market, then the collapse of U.S. shale oil production could be even much bigger and sooner than the market anticipates.
DYI:  Government debt to GDP reaching levels not seen since the end of World War II.  And who are we fighting today?  The bogus made up war on terror all brought to you by 9/11/01 that was committed by the U.S. Government to propel the U.S. military to rampage all across the Middle East and of late portions of Central Africa.  Today and thank God very few of our citizens believe the official 9/11 report or what I call the errors, omissions, and when all else fails chronicles of LIES [propaganda].  I’m not going to rehash all of the errors, omissions, and lies propagated that day.  What we do have is a runaway Federal government along with a bevy of State government as well spending like a drunken sailor on shore leave!

Add on a massively overvalued stock and junk bond market with private debt to GDP at 202% and ever expanding national debt what possibly could go wrong?[just in case you missed it that’s sarcasm!].  DYI’s thinking is a deflationary smash something along the lines of the great depression as government entities scramble to fund and justify their very existence.

This scramble will be brought about as tax receipts dry up as business slumps severely ballooning budget deficits thus expanding the national debt and the interest cost to service that debt!  In the end the Fed’s will do what all governments have done in the past.  PRINT, PRINT and PRINT just we did following WWII as inflation started out as a minor difficulty in the 1950’s, with the central bank ramping up to pay for World War II, the Korean War and the ever expanding Vietnam War all at the same time funding the Cold War with the Soviets as inflation peaking during the 1970’s driving down government debt to GDP from 120% to 30%.  Like any war there were casualties as retirees, the middle class, and poor watched and felt everyday as their purchasing power declined.  Many retirees ended up dying in poverty [penniless]!

What should the average John and Jane Doe do to mitigate or even profit from the upcoming economic calamity?  First of all whether an economic decline hits or not is to get out of debt!  All debt; up to and including the house.  I know easier said than done.  I recommend the snow ball debt payoff advocated by Dave Ramsey.  Start with the smallest debt you have make minimum payments on all of the rest use what ever extra dollars to kill off that first debt.  Now you have a new smallest debt and repeat till everything is paid off.

While I’m on debt payoff I’ve met folks who have had trucks that cost as much as $60,000 dollars and were at a loss as to why they were having serious trouble making ends meet.  My recommendation along with many of his relatives was “sell the truck!”  Once he got his head out of the sky [or other parts unknown!] and came down to earth about his money everything in his life improved and not just financially.  Also if you have a house that you are purchasing is greater than 3.0 times your income you will fall into the trap of becoming “house poor!”  Just like the guy with truck; its time to sell and move down to a more modest home.  If you purchase at 2.0 or less of your income you will not be house poor.  This also goes for those who are renting the Taj Mahal when the lease runs out move to less expensive digs!  When renting spend no more than 25% of your after tax income and always shoot for 20% or less!

I realize I’m harsh when it comes to debt payoff and many times have had head on collisions with the wives.  What I’m advocating is your world to stop revolving around its axis until you are debt free.  No vacations, no cable TV, and no eating out at restaurants, very modest cars/trucks, modest home [renting or buying] dropping your expenses to the bone!  Why??  They used to call this the money game but today it is a scorched earth war!  If you lose, simply put, your life will suck.  Don’t believe me? Ask a Boomer generation who as a group [there are exceptions of course] over spent and under saved and continue to work with many in their 70’s.  Don’t let them BS you, they are working because they have to and not to maintain a fulfilling life!

How to prosper?  Read my blog, read books on investing such as Benjamin Graham’s Intelligent Investor, Harry Browne’s Fail Safe Investing is three very excellent places to start.

Till Next Time!

Extrapolating Growth

John P. Hussman, Ph.D.
President, Hussman Investment Trust
From 2009 to 2018, the S&P 500 price revenue ratio advanced from less than 0.7 to a breathtaking multiple of 2.4 early this year – the highest level in the history of the U.S. stock market.
The upshot is this. Measured from their highs of early-2018, we presently estimate that the completion of the current cycle will result in market losses on the order of
-64% for the S&P 500 Index, -57% for the Nasdaq 100 Index, -68% for the Russell 2000 Index, and nearly -69% for the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
DYI:  Ten twenty or thirty years from now when market historians write books about this time period the best they will come with is this: “What were investors thinking??”  John Hussman of the Hussman Funds is right along side DYI.  I expect a market downturn from peak to trough of 60% to 75%!

What are investors thinking today??  I’m as baffled just as much as market historians will be in the future as investors [actually speculators] have thrown caution completely to the wind.  Price to sales ratio is the highest in all of recorded U.S. market history.  Think about that for a moment.  That blows past the market top of 1902, 1929, 1937, 1966, 2000 and 2008!  If I was writing the history the best explanation for investors throwing caution to the wind is that all stocks have been pushed up dramatically as opposed to during the late 1990’s when high tech stocks were the rage and it was easily to see that portion of the market as nothing less than rank speculation.  With anything and everything “jack up” it is much harder to see any speculation let alone to a rancorous degree.

Below is a chart not based on price to sales but from price to earnings.  Based on those valuations the 2000 top is the most overvalued and this being the Dividend Yield Investor Blog the 2000 top [S&P 500] had the lowest dividend yield of 1.01% in all of U.S. market history!  So much for going down memory lane staying with today no matter what type of valuation method you use the result is the same.  The market is way overvalued hence future returns will be tepid at best and highly likely to rack up losses.

War

Generational
Dynamics
As I've been writing for many months, based on Generational Dynamics analyses, is that there is no chance whatsoever that North Korea will give up its nuclear development program now or in the future, after having tortured, starved and brutalized their own population for three decades, under the promise that one day North Korea would be a nuclear power on a peer with the United States.
North Korea has one and only one objective in the charm offensive since the beginning of the year and in Kim's summit meetings with Trump and South Korean leaders: To get the US-led sanctions lifted without having to give up its development of nuclear missiles targeting the United States.
Once again, this makes complete sense because it's consistent with the Generational Dynamics analyses that I've been posting for months. As I've said in the past, Trump can't prevent a world war, but I'm not going to criticize Trump for taking steps to try to prevent a world war, even if doing so is impossible.
One more related subject that the mainstream media is completely baffled about is the issue of Russia. I must hear reporters ask the same question a dozen times a day: Why is Trump so "nice" to Vladimir Putin and Russia, when he's not so "nice" to China and in fact is conducting a trade war?
Once again, this makes perfect sense, as I've been describing for years. Russia will be our ally in the coming world war, just as the Soviet Union was our ally in World War II, even though it was a bitter enemy before and after World War II. Generational Dynamics predicts that this bit of history will repeat itself, so of course it makes sense for Trump to be "nice" to Russia. This will be of help later.
As for the trade war against China, this is a dangerous game. An American oil embargo against Japan in 1941 led to Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor several months later, and this trade war might trigger a similar response from China today. In a sense it doesn't make any difference, since China has been arming itself militarily to pre-emptively attack the United States at a time of its choosing, so the trade war might force China to move up the attack to a time when it will not be as well prepared. However, there's no question that this is a dangerous move.
As regular readers know, Generational Dynamics predicts that there is an approaching Clash of Civilizations world war,
pitting the "axis" of China, Pakistan and the Sunni Muslim countries
against the "allies," the US, India, Russia and Iran.
Part of it will be a major new war between Jews and Arabs, re-fighting the bloody the war of 1948-49 that followed the partitioning of Palestine and the creation of the state of Israel.
The war between Jews and Arabs will be part of a major regional war, pitting Sunnis versus Shias, Jews versus Arabs, and various ethnic groups against each other.

OIL INDICATOR:  Positive  Oil indicator will remain positive until it's rise is greater than 75% from five years earlier.

Oil prices are well known for their volatility in the short term, longer term due to dwindling reserves energy prices are in a secular bull market.  Technologies such as fracking will extend the life of oil fields but major new discoveries arrive at a snails pace far slower than the world's growth.

As long as prices rise in a slow and orderly pace our economy can adjust to those changes, however if prices spike (international tensions, war etc.) high energy costs behave as a massive deflationary tax. This will send our economy tumbling down and very possibly the U.S. stock market.

If oil prices rise greater than 75% from five years earlier, investors at that time should shift their portfolio geared towards deflationary times.  This would be an oil indicator as negative.

If oil prices rise from five years earlier less than 10% or drop then the inflationary play is in effect; a positive for economic growth along with possible higher stock prices.

Veteran Loses Over $60,000 To Police, Despite Lack Of Criminal Charges

Mark Brewer is a decorated Air Force veteran who fought in the global war on terror. But last month, he became a casualty in the drug war.
In late March, the U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the federal government could take more than $60,000 of Brewer’s cash with civil forfeiture, even though he was never charged with a crime. The decision lets many Midwestern states continue to take property from people who have done nothing wrong.

Police fatally shoot Bronze Star recipient after he shot home intruder

An Army veteran who fired on an intruder in his Colorado home was fatally shot by a police officer responding to the scene, authorities said.
"An officer discharged his firearm striking the armed male, who was transported to the hospital," Metz said. "Inside, officers found an injured juvenile and the deceased adult male intruder on the bathroom floor."
"Further investigation revealed the armed male encountered by the officer was a resident of the home," Metz said in the statement. "Our preliminary investigation has revealed the deceased intruder on the bathroom floor was fatally shot by the armed adult male resident."
Rathod told ABC News "a naked man kicked down the door to the house, entered the house, and was found choking Black Jr.'s 11-year-old grandson,"
strangling the boy in the bathtub. That boy's father, Black's stepson, went in and began wrestling with the naked man. Both he and Black were trying to save the boy.
"Mr. Black goes and gets his sidearm and shoots the intruder and saves his grandson," Rathod said. "Mr. Black walks out of the bathroom to see other individuals who had also come in the home. Black's wife had called the police and ran outside. She specifically told the police what her husband was wearing and there was a naked man attacking her grandson. Mr. Black walks out and is shot by police."

DYI:  "Rathod told ABC News "a naked man kicked down the door to the house, entered the house, and was found choking Black Jr.'s 11-year-old grandson," strangling the boy in the bathtub. A NAKED MAN???  Oh come on now!  Was the door made out of cardboard?  I hate to say this people but this just smacks me of FAKE NEWS that the main stream press is sooooo notoriously famous.  "If it bleeds it leads!"  All to drive viewers equals ratings then increasing ad revenues.  What a total load of BS!

NAKED?  What are we having a Jay Bird epidemic?  Remember the fake as hell Aurora night club shooting all for PROPAGANDA?  Same basic area just a coincidence?  An agent/analyst working in intelligence would look at this raw information and then make his assessment based upon two criteria.

Reliability of the Source.
A.)  Completely reliable
B.)  Usually reliable
C.)  Fairly reliable
D.)  Not usually reliable
E.)  Unreliable
F.) Reliability cannot be judged

Do to the repetitive nature of these shootings reported by the main stream press only to found to be staged, faked, PROPAGANDA events therefore reliability of the source is scored E unreliable.

Accuracy of the Information.
1.)  Confirmed by other reliable sources
2.)  Probably true
3.)  Possibly true
4.)  Doubtful
5.)  Improbable

6.)  Accuracy cannot be judged

If the alleged perpetrator was fully clothed except for no shoes or socks kicking in a solid front door of house would be assessed as Doubtful.  Naked as a Jay bird kicking open a door then attempting to strangle the young 11 year old son with three other adults present?  This is ludicrous and is thus labeled Improbable.  Conclusion:  FAKE NEWS.  Most likely some sort of DHS drill with the main stream press once again promoting this event as real for PROPAGANDA and a vain attempt for a ratings boost to keep ad revenues robust.

The propaganda message is if you have a gun you will most likely be killed by the perpetrator; if not, then you will be killed by the police.  Therefor the message is clear don’t own a gun and you will live.  Obviously this is twisted logic attempting to convince the public that the color of snow is black or simply a form of attempted brain washing.  A secondary propaganda message is present with it being inferred that the NAKED intruder was mentally ill.  This opens to the age old effect of Problem – Reaction – Solution scam constantly applied to pass legislation making it easy to detain [with no crime committed] those labeled mentally ill all based upon criteria open to any interpretation.
