The non-psychoactive cannabis cousin of marijuana would finally become legal to grow in the United States under a bill overwhelmingly approved by the Senate.
"Consumers across America buy hundreds of millions in retail products every year that contain hemp," McConnell said in a floor speech on Thursday. "But due to outdated federal regulations that do not sufficiently distinguish this industrial crop from its illicit cousin, American farmers have been mostly unable to meet that demand themselves. It's left consumers with little choice but to buy imported hemp products from foreign-produced hemp."
“Legalizing hemp nationwide ends decades of bad policy making and opens up untold economic opportunity for farmers in Oregon and across the country,” Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) said upon passage of the Farm Bill on Thursday. “Our bipartisan legislation will spur economic growth in rural communities by creating much-needed red, white and blue jobs that pay well. I’m proud to have worked with my colleagues to get the bipartisan Hemp Farming Act through the Senate. Today marks a long-overdue, huge step forward for American-grown hemp.”

“No Jab, No Pay” is the pointed name given to the Australian policy of withholding child benefits from parents who do not vaccinate their kids.Since January 2016, recalcitrant or forgetful parents have taken a financial hit on their welfare payments – now $28 (all figures in Australian dollars) every two weeks (on a payment of $400). Parents can also lose their family tax benefit (worth $2,170 per child) and child-care rebate (worth up to $7,500).
In total, a family could lose up to $15,000 in support for failing to vaccinate.
In some Australian states, unvaccinated children are barred from child care, either permanently or during disease outbreaks, and daycare centres that admit them can face fines of up to $30,000.
Children who are not fully vaccinated can also be barred from schools – though that policy is common in developed countries.
This spring the U.S. Education Department reported that in the 2015-2016 school year, "nearly 240 schools ... reported at least 1 incident involving a school-related shooting." The number is far higher than most other estimates.
NPR decided to look at America’s new violence epidemic. Over the course of three months, they reached out to every school that had reported a shooting to ask them more specifically about the incident.
To their surprise, more than two-thirds of administrators said the incidents never happened. “In 161 cases, schools or districts attested that no incident took place or couldn't confirm one.
In at least four cases, we found, something did happen, but it didn't meet the government's parameters for a shooting,” NPR’s Anya Kamenetz reported.
NPR was able to confirm just eleven shootings out of the 240 reported.
The good news is that school shootings are really rare.
The bad news is that our government can’t even assure parents of this salient fact. Instead, they put out alarming data on which policy-makers are basing new laws and practices, and on which parents are basing decisions for their children’s educations.
Perhaps the most important lesson any of us can learn from this is that the government is frequently wrong and can’t be trusted with matters that require common sense.
The 2012 NDAA now allows false propaganda to be inflicted on populations of the United States after congress allowed the Smith-Mundt Act to be removed (modernized) - a provision that had protected Americans against social control propaganda since 1948. Since the NDAA is a budget of the US military, it would be no surprise to see the involvement of the United States Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (USACAPOC).
Subordinate USACAPOC units are scattered around the country in various cities. For example, the 17th Psychological Operations Battalion is located at Camp Mabry in Austin, TX.
School shootings come under the category of "violent extremism" by SCN and DHS. Under current definitions, any person using a firearm to defend against alien assault or enemy invasion could be using "violent extremism" to protect life and property.9/29/2015: Attorney General Loretta E. What characterizes American government today is not so much dysfunctional politics as it is ruthlessly contrived governance carried out behind the entertaining, distracting and disingenuous curtain of political theater. And what political theater it is, diabolically Shakespearean at times, full of sound and fury, yet in the end, signifying nothing.
Week after week, the script changes—Donald Trump’s Tweets, Robert Mueller’s Russia probe, Michael Cohen’s legal troubles, porn star Stormy Daniels’ lawsuit over an alleged past affair with Trump, Michelle Wolf’s tasteless stand-up routine at the White House correspondents’ dinner, North and South Korea’s détente, the ongoing staff shakeups within the Trump administration—with each new script following on the heels of the last, never any let-up, never any relief from the constant melodrama.
It’s the oldest con game in the books, the magician’s sleight of hand that keeps you focused on the shell game in front of you,
while your wallet is being picked
clean by ruffians in your midst!
Indeed, while mainstream America has been fixated on the drama-filled reality show being televised from the White House, the American Police State has moved steadily forward.
Set against a backdrop of government surveillance, militarized police, SWAT team raids, asset forfeiture, eminent domain, overcriminalization, armed surveillance drones, whole body scanners, stop and frisk searches, roving VIPR raids and the like—all of which have been sanctioned by Congress, the White House and the courts—our constitutional freedoms have been steadily chipped away at, undermined, eroded, whittled down, and generally discarded.

The dramatic change in the Sydney property market was obvious at two auctions on Saturday that achieved an outcome unheard of just months ago: no bidders turned up. At the sale of a brand-new four-bedroom penthouse Lidcombe, in Sydney's almost-inner west, The Australian Financial Review was the only attendee. "Are you here to bid?" the agents asked. Upon hearing I was a journalist, they told me they had interested buyers who didn't turn up. The asking price for the penthouse was $1.2 million, which the agent said was a steal for 320 square metres of space and six car parks.
--As the stock market becomes more expensive, a conservative investor's stock allocation should go down. The rationale recognizes the reduced expected future returns for stocks, and the increasing risk.
--The formula acknowledges the increased likelihood of the market falling from current levels based on historical valuation levels and regression to the mean, rather than from volatility. Many agree this is the key to value investing.
