Government is not reason, it is not eloquence — it is force. Like fire it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master; never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action.

Maxine Waters: Housing ‘Is a Necessary Human Right’

Thursday at a Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) oversight hearing Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) declared housing was a “necessary human right.”
Waters said, “Housing is the foundation on which our entire society is built. It is a platform for economic mobility and well-being. It is a crucial part of our national economy. It is a necessary human right.”
 Dear Maxine,

Natural Rights does not require money, time, or labor – generally in the form of taxes – from another individual (society).  Since they require no other intervention by man our founding fathers stated clearly as rights deemed by God.  God’s granting of an individuals right to life, liberty, and to pursue happiness.  An individual's LIBERTY is expressed in our constitution so simply and eloquently yet direct and concrete.  The right to defend yourself with the use of arms (weapons) to be secure in your personal effects, to be silent or speak freely.

When the power of the purse – other people’s money (taxes) – a requirement of their labor to provide for others is forced charity; is NOT a right.  Providing healthcare, housing, food, clothing, education, etc. have been commonly called benefits and nefariously deemed entitlements are NOT a right.  Those who embrace and advocate these benefits are SOCIALIST’S!

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has been a disaster from its inception.  It is incapable of reform; it is the nature of government itself when disposing vast sums of funds for others creating a playground for graft and corruption. To help the poor and needy is accomplished by closing this monster. Providing a positive backdrop of free enterprise to flourish will increase the quality and reduce the price for housing.  Socialism fails, and fails miserably repeatedly.  Its time to put this chapter behind us of failed socialism in housing – close HUD now and forever.
